BETTER LIVING FOR CANCER SURVIVORS

A 4-week workshop at Touro which is designed to help women learn how to adjust to life following the end of cancer treatment. OCHSNER-HEALING YOGA FOR CANCER SURVIVORS

Open to all cancer survivors, men and women. 2 classes every Thursday ~ 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm plus Saturday ~ 11:00 am.  Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center, 5th floor sitting area, 1514 Jefferson Hwy. To register and for questions, call (504) 842-3708.

WEST JEFFERSON REHAB CONNECTION

Lymphedema Support Group
Persons with lymphedema, friends, and family are welcome. It is open to the public so anyone interested in learning about lymphedema may attend. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each quarter (Jan, Apr, July, Oct) from 4-5 pm at 4519 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Interested parties can call (504) 349-6259 to RSVP for a meeting, to speak with a certified lymphedema therapist, or to find out the meeting topic and/or guest speaker.

CANCER CONNECTION SUPPORT GROUP

Meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, 1203 South Tyler St., Covington. For individuals, family members and friends challenged by cancer diagnosis. Focus is on sharing experiences and quality of life after a cancer diagnosis. SUPPORT GROUPS TO MEET YOUR NEEDS

Can’t get to a meeting? Treatment and travel can hinder participation in meetings or you may need more support than a once a month meeting. Cancer Care, a non-profit organization, offers numerous telephone or online support groups. All groups are free of charge and are led by an oncology social worker.
